The Simons House

The Maison Simons is a clothes shop for all and of articles of decoration for the house.

History

Founded in 1840 by John Simons, wire of Scottish immigrant close to the Door Midsummer's Day with Quebec. At the time, one sold dry goods to with it coming from Europe. In 1870, the store moves on the coast of the Factory, where it is always. The head office is there too. The Années 1950 will bring the transformation of the store into center of mode, while the Années 1960 will see being born the first three brand names from the House (Twik, 31 and Contemporaine).

As from 1999, the Simons House opens new stores in-outside Ville of Quebec, and has now a store with Sherbrooke, Montreal, St-Bruno and Laval, in addition to the three original stores of the Ville of Quebec.

October 28th, 2004, Peter Simons, general president-director of the company announced the gift of a fountain of Tourny to the population of Quebec adding up 4 million dollars. This fountain is inaugurated on July 3rd, 2007, day of the 399ème birthday of the City, for 400e birthday of Quebec, in the center of the roundabout of the avenue Honore-Draper, vis-a-vis the Hôtel of the Parliament.

Brand names

The Simons House currently counts six brand names, that is to say Twik (aiming at the young girls), Contemporaine (for the women), Guêpière (female Linen room), the Linen maid (House Mode), the 31 (male mode) and Djab (aiming at the young men, teenagers).

A store in Ottawa and Toronto could open from here a few years. The company would have called upon an estate agency besides in order to thoroughly choose the site of a possible store in the Ontarian province.
