The Sheriff

the $heriff is a group known Punk originating in Montpellier for simplistic and effective words, a sound electric and melody which will be worth to them to be compared with the Ramones, even if their heart and their references lean in favor of Dickies (of which it will make a French adaptation).

Formed in 1984 with Manu with the battery, Michel with low, Fred with the guitar and Olivier with the song, the combo is extended to 5 in 1991 with the arrival of a second guitarist, Fab . The line up will change somewhat between 1996 and 1998 (departure of Manu, then of Fred). In the middle of the Years 1990, the Sheriff at that time belong to the important groups of the French punk landscape, also called “alternative Rock”, following the example Mano Negra, Parabellum, Ludwig von 88 or OTH, another montpelliérain group. Whereas they held a solid reputation gained with the sweat in their boosted concerts, the Sheriff separate in 1998, after their ultimate album " Electrochoc". A ex-member of the group, manu, plays today in The hop!. They will mark the punk scene rock'n'roll French with their manner and will give the taste to several young people to play of the rock'n'roll.
