The Sentinel (Swiss daily newspaper)

the Sentinel was a socialist daily newspaper missing in May 1971. Its last director was Rene Meylan. This newspaper was that of the Socialists of the Canton of Neuchâtel and the the Jura at the time entirely Bernese. It amalgamated with the People , body of the Socialists of the Canton of Vaud and Geneva. It was one of the rare Swiss newspapers to denounce the extermination of the Jews by the Nazi Germany. During the war of Algeria, one could read critical articles with regard to the French policy in North Africa. The chrononique one of Jules Humbert-Droz was followed by all those which were interested in the communist movement.

Among the large signatures, one can quote those of Walter Biolley, Charles Naine, Ernest-Paul Graber, Jules Humbert-Droz, Lucien de Dardel, Edmond Privat.
