The Secrecy of the Swordfish

the Secrecy of the Swordfish is the first episode of the series of Cartoon Blake and Mortimer , written and scenarized by Edgar P. Jacobs.

It was composed of two (original version) then of three volumes according to the history division:

  1. the fantastic continuation
  2. the escape from Mortimer
  3. SX1 counter-attacks

Published initially in a weekly board on the fourth of cover as of number 1 of the " Newspaper of Tintin" then in albums connected in 2 volumes in 1950 and 1953.

During the creation of the editions Blake and Mortimer, the album was republished in 3 volumes of 1984 to 1986. This saucissonage, which did not charm Jacobs, is explained by reasons of profitability: by including the large illustrations which were used for certain front pages of the newspaper, it was possible to make three albums of 56 pages of them.

In 2002, an integral version in only one album was published by the editions Blake and Mortimer. One now returned to the traditional edition in two volumes.
