the Secrecy behind the door ( Secret Beyond the Door ) is an American film carried out by Fritz Lang, left the August 13rd 1948.

Synopsis

At the time of a voyage to the Mexico, whereas it attends a brawl with the knife in the street between two men who dispute a woman, Celia Barett, young heiress, crosses the glance of Lamphere Mark. Under the charm of this man it decides to marry it. At the time of the ceremony it realizes that it knows nothing of this man, if it is not that he is architect and director of a review in financial problems. She discovers that her husband also has a strange passion: it collects parts in which took place of the murders. However, one of these parts is always closed with key, and the husband refuses to speak about it: is there a secrecy behind the door?

  • the film is rather close to the Rebecca of Hichcock and could even pass to be the Remake about it: arrived of a new wife in a vast, hostile house and door of secrecies, house where the young woman is more or less locked up.
  • the intrigue is not without pointing out the popular tale of Bore-Blue: old murders, prohibited room, mysterious husband.
