The Saint-Victor-on-Loire

the Saint-Victor-on-Loire is a medieval borough of Saint-Etienne, the village is located on a rock piton which the the Loire in one of its meanders comes to encircle. It dominates the Lac of Grangent, on the banks of which small a marina was founded, and is surrounded by green mounts. Some paths make it possible to walk on the edge of the Loire. The common one belongs to the Regional Natural reserve of the Gorges of the Loire.

Although outside Saint-Etienne, the Saint-Victor-on-Loire in fact part since 1969 as a Common partner.

History

It was a medieval small village which was confined around its Romance church of 1070. As of the 13th century a châtellenie is present in the borough. During the one hundred year old war the village was strengthened around its castle. Today the fortifications of the village do not exist any more.

• Church Of Romance style with columns going back to 1070, was built on an ancestral vault. Inside a furnace bridge Louis XIII is present as well as the statues of Saint-Victor, Saint-Anthony, Saint-Roch, Saint-Eustace and the virgin out of gilded wooden.
• the chastel of Saint-Victor on the Loire : Is a castle built at the 13th century for protected the borough medival which dominated the Loire Valley and Lizeron. Today it consists of a central building surrounded by two turns and fortifications. Inside a Jardin with the Frenchwoman is present.
• Rosery of Berland : is a floral garden of 2,5 hectares which shelters hundreds of varieties of trees, shrubs and flowers including more than 11.500 Rosier S (85 varieties of rose trees).
• House of the nature of Frapna : The house of the Natural reserve of the Gorges of the Loire is a place of reception having the natural wealths of the site and is the starting point of the paths of observation of the throats.

The nautical base

The Marina is one of the interior water ports most important of France, with more than 300 boats moored at the year. It is installed on a water level of 365 hectares reserve length a 23 kilometers length

A sand beach called “ the beach of the inhabitants of Saint-Etienne ” is arranged for the supervised bathe and the nautical activities, it in July and August. Several activities are proposed: Oar, Canoe, Board with veil, Water skiing.
