The Saint-Rambert-on-Loire

the Saint-Rambert-on-Loire was a Commune Frenchwoman, located in the department of the the Loire and the area the Rhone-Alps.

This common accommodated a German prison camp of war, mainly of Alsatian/Lorrains, at the time of the First World War.

The Saint-Rambert-on-Loire was removed by decree of the September 19th 1972, appear with the Official journal on November 1st 1972 and having taken effect with the 1973.

It amalgamated on this occasion with the old commune of the Saint-Just-on-Loire, forming a new commune, Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert, to which was allotted the code INSEE of the old commune of the Saint-Rambert-on-Loire: 42279.

The Saint-Rambert-on-Loire was, before fusion, Chef-lieu of old the canton of the Saint-Rambert-on-Loire (in the past canton of Saint-Rambert ) renamed canton of Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert after this fusion of communes.

The Saint-Rambert-on-Loire had changed name before, at a nonknown date supposed between 1882 ( illustrated France of Malta-Brown) and 1943 (coding INSEE). Its traditional name was Saint-Rambert .
