the Saint-Maurice-on-Moselle is a common French, located in the department of the the Vosges and the area Lorraine.

Its inhabitants is called Frémis.

Geography

As its name indicates it, the commune is sprinkled by the the Moselle, but includes/understands also several lieudits offset: coal , the Drop of Rieux , the Red Grass . The culminating point is the Ballon of Alsace.

History

The high valley of the Moselle was borrowed by the Roman Voie connecting Metz to Basle. Bussang and the Saint-Maurice-on-Moselle was gathered under the name of Visentine until in 1420, name which the parish until its partition in kept 1767.
