the Sailor is a common French, located in the department of Martinique and the area Martinique. Its inhabitants is called Marinois.

The Sailor is one of the three sub-prefectures of Martinique (with Saint-Pierre and the Trinity). The sub-prefecture of the Sailor was created in 1974.

Economy

Located at the South of the island, it is also a large marina (largest of Caribbean with nearly 400 units) and the stage Roger Bonarro (U.S Marinoise and the Olympic one of the Sailor, are the 2 football clubs of the commune)
