The Rock-Maurice
the Rock-Maurice is a common department of the Finistere, in the area Brittany, in France.
History and origin of the name
The Rock-Maurice, Roc' H Morvan into Breton, holds his name of Morvan, Viscount of Faou, to which one owes the construction of a fortress on a headland or roc' H . It is not that in 1341 qu ' the name of the Rock-Maurice appears; he is posterior with that of Roc' H Morvan ( Rupe Morvan in 1263).
