the River of eternity is a cycle of science-fiction novels of the American writer Philip Jose Farmer.

Summary
The whole of the human beings having lived, at all times, on the Ground awakes, as in a Résurrection, along an immense river on an unknown planet. Such are the first observations: there is no order and the times and the ethnos groups are mixed; modern infrastructures exempt food; all found the body of their twenty-five years; some beings obviously nonland are present; historical characters (Richard Francis Burton, Samuel Clemens alias Mark Twain, Alice Hargreaves (her married name) alias the Alice of " Alice with the country of the wonders " , Jean Without Ground, Savinien de Cyrano of Bergerac or Hermann Göring) take their destiny in hand to carry out a search of the Graal: to discover, by going up the river, which brought them here and why. A supporting character, Peter Jairus Frigate, present many common characteristics with Philip Jose Farmer.

- Riverworld, the world of eternity ( Riverworld ), telefilm australo-canado-anglo-American carried out by Kari Skogland in 2003.
This adaptation to the Télévision was tried in 2003 and was diffused on television French to at the end of 2004. It was about a pilot episode, turned in New Zealand, which remained without continuation. Certain characters of the book are taken again, others not (for example the explorer Richard Francis Burton which is however one of the two main characters of the romantic saga).
