The Return of the King (delivers)

the Return of the King is the third and the last delivers, published in 1955, of the trilogy the Lord of the Rings writes by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien.

Film adaptation

It of it was drawn a film, the Return of the King left the December 17th 2003 in France and last shutter the cinematographic trilogy the Lord of the Rings carried out by Peter Jackson.

History

the Return of the King tells how Frodon and Samsagace Gamegie, guided by Gollum, manages to destroy the Ring, destroying Sauron forever. He tells also the end of the Guerre of the Ring: the seat of the Gondor and the Battle of the fields of Pelennor, and the last battle in front of Morannon.

Appendices

This third volume comprises several appendices:
  • the appendix has briefly reports the history of the kingdoms of Arnor and Gondor, like that of the Rohirrim and the Peuple of Durin;
  • the appendix B is a chronology of the Second and Troisième Âges;
  • the appendix C joins together several family trees Hobbits;
  • the appendix D details the calendars in force on the Ground of the Medium;
  • the appendix E gives tables of Cirth and Tengwar and explains the operation of these two written forms;
  • the appendix F is devoted to the spits of land of the Medium.
