The Republic of the Center
The Republic of the Center , more commonly called the Reference mark, is a regional newspaper French, based with Orleans. Published in format Tabloïd, the newspaper is present in the departments of the Loiret and Eure-et-Loir (Région Centers). The principal shareholder of the newspaper is the group Nouvelle Republic of the Mid-west.
The newspaper counts 8 local draftings:
- Loiret: Orleans, Beaugency, Pithiviers, Montargis and Gien;
- Eure-et-Loir: Dreux, Chartres and Châteaudun.
This daily newspaper is a Public limit company with working participation (SAPO), whose capital was held until 2005 by three shareholders:
- to 38% by the Company of participation of the friends of the Republic of the Center;
- to 34% by the Group Amaury ( Parisian the );
- to 27% by the group New Republic of the Mid-west (NRCO).
The group publishes two other local titles: the Scout of Gâtinais and the Center (weekly) and the Mail of Loiret .

History
- Founded by Roger Secrétain with participation of the personnel in the form of working co-operative, the first number is dated from the September 27th 1944. the Republic of the Center succeeds the daily newspaper the Republican orléanais founded in 1884 (whose Roger Secrétain had been editor association of 1938 to 1942, before entering Resistance), become the Republican of the Center under the Occupation, and removed with the Libération like all the newspapers having appeared under the mode of Vichy. After its installation with Saran, in 1969, its material of impression is one of most modern of Europe. In 1973, one of the first in the regional press, it adopts the color. the Republic of the Center passes in format tabloïd in January 2003 and to the " all-couleur" in March 2007.
