Concerning film

  • the film (or more exactly the book from which it is drawn) takes as a starting point real events to Point Pleasant between November 1966 and December 1967.
  • the name of the character of Alexander Leek is inspired by the name of the author of the book The Mothman Prophecies : John A. Keel.
  • the history of Leek which explains how he wanted to avoid the collapse of a building of which he had had the premonition is not without pointing out Arlington Road , the preceding film of Pellington Mark.
  • the voice of Indrid Cold on the telephone is not other than that of the realizer Mark Pellington. It makes in addition a Caméo in the role of a barman.
  • Towards the 75ème minute, in the scene where Richard Gere is alone in her room of motel, after it violently raccoché the telephone, one can see a strange face, a ghostly appearance: Manage snap the door of the wall cupboard, on which an ice is. And it is on this mirror that one sees, the one second space, a rather cadaveric face. Effect freezing (and involuntary, it was not envisaged in script) guaranteed, which points out that carried out by Roman Polanski in Répulsion.
