The Platform of the patriots

the Platform of the patriots was a newspaper founded in 1792 whose writer was Camille Desmoulins, in collaboration with Louis-Marie Stanislas Fréron. Only four numbers were published.

This newspaper wanted to be the emanation of the Club of Cordeliers, in spite of the fact that famous members, as Jean-Paul Marat refused to collaborate in it.

In its newspaper the Platform of the patriots Camille Desmoulins ensured to wish to fight in the political line of Maximilien de Robespierre.

My dear Robespierre, wrote it, it has been three years that I give you this name… Fréron and me we will not give up you on the brêche in the middle of a cloud of enemies. The efforts of all these false patriots baited today against you only, we will divide them by attracting on us them hatred and into combatant at your sides, not for a man, not for you, but for the cause of the people, the equality, the Constitution which one tackles in you ”.
