The Plan B

the Plan B is a French newspaper of criticism of the media and social investigations.

Born from the bringing together of the draftings of the alternate newspapers Fakir and PLPL , its first number left in the street on March 7th, 2006, day of the national demonstration against CPE, and in kiosk on March 10th, 2006.

An special issue of the newspaper PLPL is appeared in January 2006 for call to subscriptions.

Leading line

This two-monthly is independent and without publicity as the Proclamation of the Plan B underlines it, appeared in the n°1: “The Plan B is an independent newspaper, financed exclusively by its readers; its capital is distributed with equal shares between its founders; publicity is outlaw there. It is not related to any political organization and is opposed at the same time to the owners who plastronnent, to the right-hand side which fattens them, to the left which courts them. ” The newspaper thus intends to fight (and “to destroy”) what it names “the Party of the Press and the money (PPP)”.

Its leading line comprises two dimensions. Newspaper of criticism of the media, formless Plan B the “on information, its operation, its divertings, its cadors, explains its proclamation. It saves neither the artists moneybox, neither the intellectuals with pledges, nor the narcissistic chiefs of the dispute. ” Thus its writers, for example, imagined lawsuits of journalists in sight or intellectuals snuffed by the media.

But the publication also wants to be a newspaper of social investigations and reports: “The Plan B returns the word to all those which the journalists wanted to bury under their contempt, the proclamation adds. It shows the shared interests of people and the people that the powerful ones get busy to oppose. ”

Resulting from a collective work, the articles of the Plan B are not signed.

As with its predecessor PLPL , some reproach him for being shown, by its violent attacks AD hominem , nearer to the lampoon than of criticism. The question of criticism AD hominem was included in the number six of the newspaper. The newspaper wire-drawer which it is to better name those that it regards as enemies to refer to hollow concepts (like the “Ultralibéralisme”). Others, in particular Philippe Corcuff blame its proximity with the Théorie of the plot. It is about an argument rather systematically used to disqualify, inter alia, the radical critics of the media which does not return justice to specific humor to this kind of press following the example that practiced by Duck connected.
