Comment
Beautiful reconstitution of rural agricultural Norman and psychological fresco of the Fifties. Florence Moncorgé-Gabin, the girl of Jean Gabin, inherited the love of the Norman agricultural rural world of his/her father whom she magnificiently manages to retranscribe ``with her tripe'' in this very beautiful film. A truth éco MUSE of seaside. In 1952, his/her father had carried out one of his child's dreams by buying the field of " Pichonnière" with Mill-the-Walk in the Flowering ash, in Normandy on which it had made build " Moncorgerie" to launch out in the breeding of bovines and the horses, where Florence with grown. The image of this father is strongly present in the scenario of film: " When I started to write, from the things lived during my childhood returned to me… For all, it was an actor, but for us he was also a peasant… The character of Joseph is inspired at the same time by what it could have been young, and of the image that it could give in his first films".
Another comment of the author Florence Moncorgé-Gabin: " I had this history in me for a very long time. I felt the desire for telling an impossible love, in a world which I have well-known to have grown there, that of the countryside. It was right before the peasants do not become farmers, before the tractors and mechanization do not upset an artisanal world. I also wanted to approach the desire of the women of various generations, attracted by the same man (...) Là-bas, especially at that time, there were more unvoiced comments, codes, uses, which all the more contrasted with passion. The spark came to me at the time of a marriage to which I was invited. I placed in a lodging, with the farm. I realized that there were only women to exploit it. The absence of man made reign an incredible atmosphere. I started to write as of my retour."
The character of adolescent Paulo is played by Jean-Paul Moncorgé-Gabin, wire of the director, and grandson of Jean Gabin.
