The Organ
The Organ is a group of Canadian Rock consisted of five women originating in Vancouver.
Heard for the first time on the Original soundtrack of the series The L Word , this exclusively female Quintet, takes root in Vancouver in 2001 and was built on ashes of an old group (Full Sketch) by the singer and compositrice Katie Sketch and the organist Jenny Smyth. Individual, Sinking Heart , and lives performances in first part of groups such as Interpol, Hot Hot Heat, or the Walkmen quickly carry the training on the front of the scene.
In the tread, Grab That Gun , their first album, appears with the the United States at Mint Records/604 Records: crystalline and obsessing guitars, song pointing out curiously the stamp of Morrissey, this one reduces the influences of the group, but does not prevent however The Organ from developing a its personnel. Captivating, melody and instinctive melancholic person and, Grab That Gun flirte with the Smiths, The Cleans or Kristin Hersh.
And it is on scene that the music of The Organ is revealed a little more still. The formation electrifies by a tangible tension, an insane sunken energy. Dark, tended services and envoƻtantes.
December 7th, 2006, the group announces that it separates.
