The Odyssey of Munch

the Odyssey of Munch is a Video game, the third shutter of the series Oddworld and the first play of the series on console Xbox, the 2 first having left on PlayStation.

Oddworld is a series of play of action/ventures which began in 1994 and which was created by the studio of Oddworld Inhabitants. One can qualify the play of Jeu of platform. The originator of the saga is called Lorne Lanning. Its goal always was to make beautiful and captivating plays, plays which plunge us in a Univers that we believe to know although completely different from our. History

The odyssey of Munch learns some to us still a little more on the world of Oddworld and its inhabitants. It tells the history of the capture of Munch (a gabbit, a race amphibienne alive on the world of Oddworld), a very required animal for its delicious eggs: the gabbiar (analogy with our caviar). Munch will undergo a series of experiments then will escape from the Laboratoire which retained it captive. Protagonists

Abe . It is one of many the Mudokon S of the history. It belongs to the one of the many social classes of Mudokons, which hardly had great importance before it saves its people of an unquestionable death.

Munch is a Gabbit, a being Amphibian having only one webbed leg enabling him to swim quickly. Its unijambism thus does not enable him to move easily on the dry land. It is moreover the last representative of his species.

Lulu is rather awkward Glukkon which will be used by Abe and Munch to demolish the plans machiavelic of other Glukkons plus crafty ones and cruel.

Inhabitants of Oddworld

There are 3 main categories of inhabitants on Oddworld:

  • colonists;
  • industrialists;
  • animals (or the fauna).

  1. the class of the colonists takes again the whole of Gabbits and Mudokons. (Mudokons are also divided into subclass like the workmen, the shamans, the blind men…). They are peaceful inhabitants living harmonizes some with nature.

  2. Among the class of the Industrialists is mainly Glukkons, Vykkers (it is them which will graft the Sonar of Munch on his head), Sligs…
  3. And in the animals which we will classify in the fauna of Oddworld one finds of Fuzzles, Meeps, Scrabs and many other things even more astonishing the ones than the others.

The odyssey of Munch on GameBoy Advance

Left in 2003 and published by THQ, the odyssey of Munch on GameBoy Advance is a play of platform in isometric 3D taking again the elements of the play on X-box. Once more you will have as mission of saving the species of Gabbits (whose Munch is the last representative on Oddworld), while saving a maximum of mudokons. The concept A.L.I.V.E which makes it possible to discuss with the other living beings is always present and to use it is essential to advance in the play.

The series

Oddworld is built as being a quintology, putting in scene five characters belonging to different origins. The history is built on five “great” episodes, which one knows only two heroes for the time being: Abe and Munch. Each play can of the remainder be entitled to one or two episodes no-claims bonus, as it is the case for the Odyssey, whose Exodus is a opus “no-claims bonus”.
