the Odyssey of Astérix is an album of cartoon of the series of Albert Uderzo Astérix the Gallic which was published in 1981. Albert Uderzo wrote the scenario and carried out the drawings.

Synopsis

Panoramix seems concerned lately… and due! Épidemaïs, the merchant supposed phenician to bring to him oil of rock (i.e. oil), ingredient essential with the composition of the magic potion, does not arrive. And when finally this one unloads on the coasts of Armorique, it is to announce that he forgot invaluable oil.

A forwarding is organized then: Astérix, Obélix, Idéfix and Zérozérosix the druid-spy sent by Jules César leave for Mésopotamie.

Around the album

  • Rene Goscinny before his death had envisaged to make travel Astérix to the Middle East, but as Goscinny was itself Juif, it was afraid to be " shown pro-Jewish Propaganda ". Uderzo especially travelled to Israel to be able to reconstitute the decorations accurately. For Uderzo, it was an adventure easier to write for him than Goscinny, since it is not Jewish. In homage to its comparse, it revealed it in Bedouin.
