the Odd Incident of the dog during the night ( The Curious Incidental off the Dog in the Night-Time ) is a novel of Mark Haddon published in 2003.

The title of the novel comes from a remark made by the detective that created Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes, in the news " Silver Blaze ". Christopher Boone, which is the fictitious writer of this autobiography, is in fact a fan of the British detective.

The novel tells with the first anybody, with humor and sensitivity, the tribulations of an autistic young person 15 years, inhabitant with Swindon (in the county of the Wiltshire), reached Syndrome To sprinkle and suddenly confronted with events which disturb its closed world.

The book gained several prices, of which the Whitbread price (in 2003, in the " category; deliver année"), aujourdhui Price Costa, and became a Best-seller.
