The Number off the Beast

The Number off The Beast is an album of the group of heavy metal Iron Maiden, left the March 22nd 1982. The first album of the formation with to its orders the singer Bruce Dickinson, to replace Paul Di' Anno, which had more and more evil to follow the rate/rhythm of the group.

The small pocket of the album is due to Derek Riggs, where one can see Eddie playing with the devil.

The title refers to the Nombre of the animal 666 which would symbolize the animal of the apocalypse according to St Jean (delivers Revelations Chapter 13, verse 18). This term is also the title of a science-fiction novel written by Robert A. Heinlein

This album is regarded by certain the best album of the group thanks to pieces as: The Number off The Beast , Run To The Hills and Hallowed Be Thy Name . It was described as traditional album by the organization Billboard in the year 2000. The Number off The Beast positions with the n°1 classification of the sales in England as of its first week of sale to remain there during 5 weeks.

A DVD The Number off the Beast, left in 2001 recalls the recording of this album.

Republications

At the time of the republication of the albums of the group in 1998, the group adds the piece Total to it Eclipses (face B of Run to the Hills ) which could not have been added to the original album, for lack of time, except the Japanese edition. There is also a multi-media section taking again two clips:

For the centenary of EMI in 1997, the disc had been republished in a special version vinyl.
