The Northern Marianna Islands

The the Northern Marianna Islands (also called the Mariannes ) are a group of islands formed by the volcanic tops of 15 mountains in the Pacific Ocean and which form the limit is Mer of Philippines. They include/understand Guam and the the Northern Marianna Islands of North.
Geography
They are the southernmost part of a series of submerged tops which extend on 2.519 kilometers from Guam until the Japan.Mariannes are the islands more in north of the Micronesia. The islands have ground a total surface of 1.026 km. Guam is a territory of the the United States, while the Northern Mariana Islands are the Commonwealth of the the United States.
With proximity is the Fosse of Mariannes.
History
The first European to have approached these islands was Ferdinand Magellan in 1521, which visited Guam and claimed these grounds for the Spain. Dissatisfied with the practices of the inhabitants on its ships, he baptized them, according to Antonio Pigafetta, “Tired Islas of los Ladrones”, (the islands of the Robbers), but in 1688, their name became Las Marianas , according to Marie-Anne of Austria, widow of Philippe IV of Spain.Almost all the autochtones disappeared during the Spanish occupation but of the islanders of the close islands the islands repopulated partly.
After the War Spanish-American of 1898, the Spain sold into 1899 with the the Filipino United States the , Guam and Puerto Rico, and with the Germany the islands of north, which were integrated into the German New Guinea. These last were occupied by the Japan as of 1914 which transformed them into military camps.
In 1941, the Japanese invaded Guam. Mariannes were taken again to the Japanese as from June 1944, at the time of the battles of Saipan, of Tinian, Guam as of the Bataille of the sea of Philippines.
The atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki started from Tinian.
