the Norman Hole is a French film carried out by Jean Boyer, left in 1952.

Synopsis

Hippolyte Lemoine (Bourvil) is a simpleton of about thirty years, naive with the very childish spirit, alive in a village of Normandy. When his/her uncle Célestin dies, Hippolyte inherits his fortune and his inn (the Norman Hole), but with the condition express which it passes his Certificat of studies within one year.

To achieve its goal, it will have to thwart the schemes of his aunt Augustine (sister-in-law and mistress of late) and of the girl of this one, Javotte (Brigitte Bardot, in its first role), who would like to inherit in her place. But it will be supported by many inhabitants of the village, of which the mayor, the teacher, and especially the girl of this last, she also teacher, under the charm of which Hippolyte will fall.
