The Nile Middelboe

the Nile Middelboe (born the October 5th 1887 - deceased the September 21st 1976) was an athlete, Football or, then referee of football and finally trainer Danish.

Playing station of medium ground to KB Copenhagen (a title of champion in 1913), Middelboe will remain forever in the History like the first player to have registered a goal in team of Denmark, the October 19th 1908 with the Jeux of London against the France (9-0).
Three days later, it will again register a goal against France at the time a victory 17-1 which to date remains the heaviest defeat of the history of the Bleus .

Middelboe will on the whole count 15 selections and 7 goals for Denmark between 1908 and 1920. It will have disputed three times the Olympic Games in 1908, 1912 and 1920.
At that time where the world cup and the championship of Europe did not exist, the OJ were the only competition between national teams. Denmark, medal of money in 1908 and 1912 (beaten each time by the England), were at the time one of the best European formations.

In 1913, Middelboe was engaged by Chelsea, becoming the first foreign player of the history of this club. He will play 10 years for the Blues .

Thereafter, he became trainer of the KB Copenhagen, with which he took down a title of champion of Denmark in 1940.

Middelboe was also an excellent athlete since it held the records of Denmark of the 800 meters and triple jump.
