The Neuville-on-Seine

the Neuville-on-Seine is a common French, located in the department of the Aube and the area Champagne-Ardenne.

Geography

Natural site

  • the forests surrounding the village comprise many rare or protected plant species, which does of them one of the forest botanical stations richest of the Département of the Paddle: one as well finds there species southernmost (which, apart from the South of the France, is observed only in one ten localities in the Aube and the Côte of Gold), that species resulting from the Central Europe (large population of Narcisse of the poets, céphalanthère red), or species submontagnardes, in particular in the edges and on the quite sunny ways (yellow Gentiane and stemless Carline which meets for the Département of the Paddle only in certain localities of the Barséquanais).

  • Four species are protected at the regional level and four are registered on the red list of the plants threatened in Champagne-Ardenne, which is exceptional for a forest medium. The open edges and mediums are attended by the Mante nun and small the cicada of the mountains.

History

  • the church is dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. Its bell-tower of the 12th century is the oldest part and the only vestige of the primitive church. Indeed the church was in 1474 during the fight which opposed Louis XI to Charles Bold the. The nave and the chorus, more recent, are 16th century.
  • Two retables known as of Bouchardon decorate the side chapels.
