The Morning (Acadie)
the Morning was a acadian newspaper daily of Moncton, founded on August 11th, 1986 and missing on June 29th 1988.
It is following the closing of the newspaper Évangéline in October 1982 that two French-speaking dailies will be created with the New Brunswick: The Morning with Moncton and Acadie News with Caraquet.
Contrary to Acadie News, the Morning served all the province. In spite of this distribution on a provincial scale and subsidies, the competition and the narrowness of the market allowing only one weak pulling and few advertizing revenues quickly caused its bankruptcy, hardly two years after its launching.
Editor association and leader-writer were Rino Morin Rossignol, writer who was political adviser of the government Hatfield (1970 - 1987) on the linguistic question with the New Brunswick. Another of the leader-writers of the Morning was Gerard Etienne, poet, writer, linguist and journalist of Haitian origin.
