The Main of the (original title: 本覚坊遺文/ Honkaku bô ibun ) is new a history of the Japanese writer Yasushi Inoue, written in 1991. It is its last work. Very documented, this however fictitious history is based on actual facts and is told to us in a very alive way.

Complete summary

The monk Honkakubô, disciple of the large Master of the SEN No Rikyū, tells, through a report card rather similar to a newspaper, his investigation into the mysterious causes of died by Seppuku of his Master.

Chapter 1

The Honkakubô monk meets Tôyôbô, a friendly monk of Rikyû. We are in 1597, almost seven years after the death of this last. While taking the, they discuss the events surrounding death of Rikyû.
