the Marseillaise is a newspaper regional newspaper of Provence not to be confused with the Parisian newspaper of the same name directed by Henri Rochefort during the Second Empire.
Leading line
The newspaper was a long time of orientation communist. In 1997, its line leading opened with all components of the social movement . History
The newspaper was founded the December 9th 1943. It was born from the will of the Front National of the combatants of Resistance (southern area), to obtain an press agency. Clandestine, it will appear initially monthly, then in 1944, and progressively of the advance of the allied armies, each week, and finally, daily in the days which precede the release by Marseilles. It is the shortly after this release, the August 25th 1944 which the first legal number of the Marseillaise appears. The writers of the newspaper, all members of the FN CR, will write this first number of the buildings of the Petit Marseillais, newspaper collaborationnist, seized, still today property of the newspaper.
