LHomme in the labyrinth (original title: The Man in the Maze ) is a novel of Science-fiction of the American author Robert Silverberg, published in the editions I read (1973).

Summary

Richard Muller had lived for nine years in the Labyrinthe. Now, he knew it well. He knew his traps, his meanders, his misleading junctions, his trap doors mortals. Since time, it had ended up being familiarized with this building of the dimension of a city, if not with the situation which had led it to seek refuge there.

All the men who had tried to penetrate in the labyrinth of Lemnos before Muller had died in an atrocious way. All those which had tried to join it thereafter there had been massacred.

Today, Ned Rawlins has just landed close to the labyrinth. It received the order to bring back Muller on the Earth, its planet native which needs him. Its planet which, nine years before, had pitilessly driven out it, forced to take refuge in the middle of this labyrinth to the mazes mortals.
