The Man (river)

The the Man , Lhomme or Lome are the names given to a river of Belgium, affluent of the Lesse, located in Walloon region in the Province of Luxembourg.
Its source is located on the plate of Saint-Hubert. It sprinkles the villages of Pitch-Saint-Hubert (where is located the Hydroelectric station of the Pitch Valley), Smuid, Mirwart, Grupont, Lesterny, Forrières, Jemelle, and the town of Rochefort for finally going to throw itself in the Lesse with Eprave. It is a river the having one of strongest declivities in Belgium. Its clear and full of fish water still attracts impassioned trout fishing.
Flow
The medium flow of the river measured with Eprave, (catchment area of 478 km ²), between 1995 and 2003 is of 7,4 m ³ a second. During the same period one recorded at this station:
- a maximum average annual flow of 9,9 m ³ a second in 2001.
- a minimal average annual flow of 3,9 m ³ a second in 1996.
During this period the DCC or Débit characteristic of raw knew its maximum in 1995, with at least 54,8 cubic meters of flow during 10 days this year.
