Mime for chamber orchestra
In the beginning the Love wizard is a “musical gitanery” in 16 tables for chamber orchestra and will cantaora (singer of Flamenco); it is a mime danced with dialogs and songs to which the spirit is close to the History of the soldier of Stravinski. Falla composes it at the request of Pastoria Imperio then regarded as one of the largest dancer of flamenco. Work is created the April 15th 1915 in Teatro Lara of Madrid but does not meet any success.
Original manpower: will cantaora (Candelas) and left spoken, flute (piccolo), oboe, horn, horn, bells, piano, the first two violins, two second violins, two violas, two violoncellos and double basses.
The version for symphony orchestra
In 1916, Falla alters work deeply, that it réorchestre for a symphonic manpower with mezzo-soprano. It removes the dialogued parts and preserves only three sung parts. Creation takes place in Madrid, on March 28th, 1916. The Symphony orchestra of Madrid is directed by Enrique Fernández Arbós.
Ballet
In 1925, the Love wizard is transformed into ballet with same manpower for orchestra, certain parts are removed whose the painful love song and the type-setter replaces the parts sung in the dance of the play of love and the finale, by instruments. This version is popularized by the company of ballet of Argentina in Paris in 1928.
