The Lord of the Rings: the Battle for the Earth of medium II

the Lord of the Rings: the Battle for the Earth of medium II is a Video game of strategy in real-time, developed by EA Games, inspired by the films of Peter Jackson as of the Tolkien delivers.

At the beginning, it was not supposed being that a add one for the Battle for the Earth of the Medium , but it appeared thereafter that the play passed at an independent stage which makes it possible to play all the battles of three films of Peter Jackson.

Like major differences with the first opus, one can note the possibility of creating of the personalized heroes (with choice of appearance, the characteristics, capacities, clothing), the number of units by troops increased, the method of basic construction (this time requiring a builder), inter alia.

Innovations

BFME II differs from BFME in many ways:
  • Appearance of naval battles.

  • constructions do not evolve/move any more according to their use, but from now on are levelled manually.
  • Appearance of a novel mode of play: The War of the Ring.
  • constructions are not done any more on predetermined sites: Excluded the extensions of the fortress, they can be done anywhere. (However, the walls must be at a certain distance from the fortresses)
  • the system of point of commandemant was also modified: it depends on the number of economic constructions (of the farms, of the mallorns, mines, furnaces, tunnels, slaughter-houses and statues).
  • the player can build sections of walls which extend in a non-linear direction and can adapt to the insuperable grounds, like the mountains.
  • There are new capacities of the ring, like “Guetteur”, “the Flood” and “Tom Bombadil”.
  • Developed of a system of updates for the fortress, improving in particular its resistance (masonry of Numénor), allowing to defend oneself against enemies with the body with body (cauldrons of magma), and granting a considerable no-claims bonus (Arrow of Gorgoroth), or quite simply of cost reductions of improvements or constructions (Excavations) to him.
  • Extensions available for the fortress (Turns, Weapons of Seat…)
  • the goblins, the spiders and the Corsairs can cross the walls.
  • Of the graphic effects is improved as the fire which can from now on extend and ignite the buildings.
  • the player attacking the enemy by the sides receives an advantage of attack.
  • It is possible to create its own hero.
  • It is now possible to obtain “the Heroes of the Ring”, Galadriel or Sauron, if the Single Ring is found on the chart (carried by Gollum) and placed in the fortress bases.
  • the walls have a new system making it possible to place turns, weapons of seats and doors defensive. It is not possible any more to station the units there. (except special charts such as Undermined Tirith or Undermined Morgul)

Hero personnalisables

Great innovation of this opus, the player can create his hero. It can choose between six types of peronnages: the human ones or rams protective (Well only), the elves (Well only), the dwarves of work (Well only), the magicians misadventure (invariably good or bad), the creatures of Sauron orcs or ourouk-haï (Badly only) and the men corrupted or haradrim (Badly only). It personalizes the appearance of the hero, then his characteristics (Armor, power, health, regeneration and vision), then the capacities.
