The Locust

The Locust is a group of Rock originating in San Diego, California, the United States, known for their synthé heavy, their sound distorted, their song snotty-nosed kid and their scenic presence. The singer Justin Pearsonn declared: " I want just to destroy the music in general. "

Their music is complex and fast, with precipice and unforeseeable changes of rhythmic Signature. This erratism is, according to the guitarist Bobby Bray, " perhaps a reflection in the way in which our brains must function to be able to do anything in the Western companies where us vivons."

The members are Justin Pearson, singer and bass player, Gabe Serbian, in the battery (which replaced Dave Astor), Joey Karam with the voice and the keyboard, and Bobby Bray with the song and the guitar. Certain members before played in known groups of punk political: Swing Kids, Struggle and Shok, and have current parallel projects: Holy Molar, Head Wound City, Ground Unicorn Horn, Nap Girls and Cattle Decapitation.

The group has a single scenic presence: " uniformes" (in fact as of the group is equipped with nylon of the head to the feet), masks… Contrary to the majority of the other groups, which generally place the battery behind the other members, the 4 members of The Locust all are aligned on the front of the scene.

The Locust boycotts Clear Chanel Communications, and refuses to play when a sub-subsidiary company of the group Clear Chanel is present. This boycott has affected the round of 2005 with Fantômas.

In their words, The Locust draws up a satire of the Mass culture of the United States, Sexualité and politicians

The Locust left New Erections in March 2007 on ANTI.
