Synopsis

During the Second world war, under the German occupation, the line of demarcation crosses into two a village of the Jura. An officer of the French Army, Pierre, Count de Damville, is held prisoner by the Germans. He is released and its castle is used by the occupant like sits of local Kommandantur. Pierre is constrained to collaborate with the Germans. What refuses his wife courageously, Mary, which joined the rows of Resistance. In the village, Gestapo intervenes to seek " dangerous terroristes". Many inhabitants (whose certain notable) the members protect from Resistance. Mary will be suspected then stopped by Gestapo. Pierre can nothing make to save it. He will then sacrifice his life to facilitate the passage of the line of demarcation by resistant, hidden in a coffin.
