the Lily and Purple is a novel of Robert Merle, the tenth volume of the historical series Fortune of France .

The hero, Pierre-Emmanuel de Siorac is one of the right-hand men of Louis XIII and of the cardinal Richelieu. He will contribute to thwart the plot against the cardinal and the king warped by the brother of this last Gaston.
