the Left-handed person ( The Left Handed Gun ) is an American film carried out by Arthur PEN, on a scenario of Gore Vidal, left in 1958.

Synopsis

The legend of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (William Bonney), which was left-handed.

The film is fertile in bounces and difficult to tell in few words.

William Bonney, wandering exhausted in the desert, is collected by a stockbreeder, Tundstall, man right and nourished biblical readings which takes it in affection. A little later this stockbreeder, who refuses the use of the weapons, is killed in a ambush by four notable, rival stockbreeders who succeeded in bribing the weak Brady sheriff. Billy, which arrives at once on the spot but can only note the death of its guard, decides to avenge it.

It cuts down initially two of the killers, but in the fire which accompanies the confrontation has the seriously burned left arm (it is excellent gunner and left-handed person). It goes back little by little in a nearby village, while the proclamation of amnesty of the governor of the territory on the war between stockbreeders is posted. Billy, that the local newspaper regards as dead in the fire, does not admit that the amnesty forgives the two unpunished murderers of its ex-owner while itself is officially buried.

His/her friend Pat Garrett protects it. But having invited it with its marriage, it changes opinion when Billy cuts down the last of the assassins in the middle of the rejoicings. Consequently Garrett, wounded and insult, accept the load of sheriff that one proposes to him and is given for task to stop Billy. It stops it indeed, after the two friends and accessory to Billy were killed. Billy, connected and promised with hanging, however succeeds in fleeing. The final confrontation between Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid takes place, and Billy is cut down, whereas it was not armed: “He went for year empty holster” (it tightened the hand towards a case empties) , known as Garrett.
