The Le Bourget-of-Lake
the Le Bourget-of-Lake is a common French, located in the department of the Savoy and the area the Rhone-Alps.
Geography
The territory of the Le Bourget-of-Lake is located between south-western bank of the Lac of Le Bourget (18 kilometers length, 4.462 hectares), on the buttresses of the Chaîne of the Spine downstream from the Mont of the Cat (see Dent of the Cat), to approximately 12 km in the North-West of the prefecture Chambéry.
The commune includes/understands a downtown area located at approximately 1 km of the edges of the lake, a vast space at the edge of the Lac of Le Bourget, today mainly reserved for the leisures, hotel trade, the restoration and the sports, and several hamlets on the first slopes of the mountain.
It is crossed by the river Leysse.
Access :
- Since Chambéry, by the northern urban fast track, to pass the highway entry “Northern Chambéry - the Mound-Servolex” then to join the RN 504 in direction of the tunnel of the Cat.
- Since Aix-the-Baths, to follow the edges of the lake by the RN 201 towards Chambéry, then on the level of Intermarket of Fish ponds, to turn right towards Savoy-technolac.
- Since Belley or Yenne, to follow the RN 504, towards the tunnel of the Cat, the Le Bourget-of-Lake is after the tunnel, bellow of the great descent.
- Station TGV in Chambéry or Aix-the-Baths.
- Airport of Chambéry - Aix-the-Baths to 6 km, Annecy to 50 km, Lyon-Satolas to 80 km, Geneva-Cointrin to 90 km.

ruins of the Castle of the Counts de Savoie, built by the Count Thomas II of Savoy towards 1250. It was the main home of the counts de Savoie of 1285 with 1434. It was held there sumptuous festivals and memorable feasts. Today in ruins, only imposing it 18 meters height resists square keep.

the Prieuré of Le Bourget is a founded priory clunisien at the 11th century. It is consisted of Gothic the St. Lawrence church of style, of a Romance Crypte, conventual buildings whose gallery of the 15th century is of style Gothic blazing. In the church one can admire a whole of very beautiful polychrome high reliefs, vestiges of old jubé of the 13th century. The gardens with the Frenchwoman of the priory are arranged around a long axial prospect which serves staged terraces. They were arranged on order of the duchess of Choiseul at the 19th century.

the natural reserve of the Domaine of Buttet is a protected but fragile natural zone. One finds there, within a whole of wet places where roselières, marshes and ponds côtoient themselves, 230 species of birds, 30 kinds of fish, of very many Amphibians, as well as a remarkable vegetation. The observatory is managed by the FRAPNA Savoy which organizes regularly there “exits nature” with an aim of sensitizing the general public with the respect of the environment by a better knowledge of fauna and flora.
