The Jardin of the Five directions is located in the middle of Yvoire (Haute-Savoie), on the place of the old kitchen garden of the Château of Yvoire and was restored in 1986 according to art and the symbolic system - lost Paradise - medieval gardens.

The vegetable Labyrinthe which is declined according to the five directions is a true curiosity. Plants and flowers correspond to the sight, the touch, the taste and the sense of smell; the fifth direction, hearing, is represented by the song of water and the birds.

Further, the visitors discover a vegetable cloister with medicinal and aromatic plants, a charming checkerwork of old pinks, trained old fruit trees and some birdcages and a fountain.

The garden obtained a certain number of rewards:

  • in 1989, the ransom price of the Tourist Initiative;
  • in 1992, the gold medal of the National company of Horticulture of France;
  • in 1997, the first price " Holidays in France" ;
  • in 2004, the label " remarkable Garden " decreed by the Ministry for the Culture.
