the Kiss of the killer ( Killer' S KIS ) is the second feature-length film of Stanley Kubrick, in black and white, left in 1955.

Synopsis

After a defeat on the boxing ring in an important official match, Davy Gordon defends entraîneuse of dance hall, Gloria, abused by its owner Vincent Rapallo.

Two young people who live in the same vicinity, sympathize and fall in love. Gloria then decides to leave its work to flee its condition and its employer.

This last, enthusiast of it, tries of to prevent it by eliminating Davy which is found thus confronted with the henchmen of Rapallo. Follows a haletante continuation with a memorable scene in a warehouse of mannequins.

Comments

For this film, Kubrick took as a starting point districts and typical people of New York.

It had a small budget (40.000$) and with filmed the entirety of film without the sound then all the voices doubled, which represented a considerable technical work.

Moreover Kubrick carried out itself a great technical part of film since he was cameraman, realizer and assembler at the same time.

It then could resell film with United Artists for 75.000$.
