the Island of Black Mór is a feature film of animation of Jean-François Laguionie left in 2004.

Synopsis

In an orphanage which resembles a bagne, a young boy dreams of the Pirate Black Mór, whose professor tells the life instead of learning to the orphans morals and the religion. The child had time to recover a strange chart.

He end up fleeing, and fail at Ficelle and Mac Gregor, two Naufrageur S. All three steal the sailing ship of the coastguards to go to the adventure, with the research of mysterious the island of Black Mór. Aboard sailing ship leave with them Taka, a deserter, and the Jim monkey.

Comments

The history takes as a starting point the novels of adventure of Robert Louis Stevenson and Joseph Conrad. The name of the island, Erewon, points out the utopian novel of Samuel Butler, Erewhon (anagram of " nowhere" , nowhere in English).
