The Intruder (Romance)
the intruder ( Intruder in the Dust ) is a Romance of William Faulkner published in 1948. The history is based on the lawsuit of Lucas Beaucamp, a black farmer shown to have killed a white. It is bleached thanks to the efforts of black and white teenagers and also of a single person resulting from an old family of the South. This novel is a response of a writer of the South to the racial problems. Faulkner wrote: " the premise is that the white in the South, before even North or the government must pay for their responsibilities towards the Nègre S.
The novel was adapted to the cinema in a film of the Subway-Goldwyn-Mayer put in scene by Clarence Brown in 1949. MGM paid 50.000 dollars of rights to the town of Faulkner (Oxford, the Mississippi).
