Synopsis
Philip Carey, young man handicapped of a Club-foot, leaves Paris where it tried to be a painter, and gives up any artistic ambition. It settles with London where it is registered at the medical college. Via a comrade it becomes acquainted with Mildred Rogers, a waitress. It falls in love from there. She does not like it but intends to benefit from the situation: he is aware of it, but cannot be detached from it, and continuous to make him the court. Obsessed by this woman it cannot concentrate on another thing and fails its examinations. The day when he it proposal, she says to him that she will marry, but with another. To forget it Philipp maintenance a connection with Norah. Mildred returns, abandoned and pregnant, to require of him of the assistance. It accommodates it and ceases any contact with Norah.
