The Indian Queen

This part was written by John Dryden and Robert Howard and was represented for the first time in 1664. It was put in music by Henry Purcell in 1695 but which could not finish work (he dies at the end of 1695), and finished by Daniel Purcell his brother. It is typical Semi-opera S, combination of scenes spoken and parts sung.

The part reports the imaginary conflicts between Aztèque S and the INCA S (what is geographically aberrant, the first being located at the Mexico and the seconds with the Peru which are not neighborly) and the loves between the queen of Aztec and the general of Incas.
