The Green Elephant or Green Elephant calf is a Russian Film carried out by Svetlana Baskova in 1999.

Synopsis

Two ex-soldiers of the Russian army , prisoners in a Gulag, who await their execution, become the victims of sadistic plays on behalf of their Bourreaux…

The Green elephant is the second film of Svetlana Baskova, a professional artist who entirely carried out this project with his numerical video camera and of the friends to it, also artists. The total costs of film did not exceed 200 euros.

The film had right only to only one projection, with the Festival of Rotterdam in 1999. The extreme violence and the cruelty of the images of film shocked many spectators who left is while crying, while shouting or while vomitting. The Scandale was such as the director was banished of her country and its film accepted a prohibition of projection in the whole world.

The film however had a small success these last years thanks to Internet near the amateurs of Gore and followers of this kind of causing cinema.

Anecdotes

The film includes/understands very explicit scenes of Coprophilie and Scatophilie, of homosexual Viol , of Nécrophilie and Meurtre. The ultra realism of the scene where one of the officers eats its Excréments, one of most wretched of the history of the cinema, undoubtedly refers to Salo or the 120 days of Sodome of Pier Paolo Pasolini. The costumes of the characters as well as the walls of the decoration of film are mainly Vert S. At the time of the final scene, the officer coprophile breath in the esophagus torn off from sound Bourreau and arrives, in this manner has to reproduce the sound of a barrissant elephant, from where the title The Green elephant , literally the green elephant .
