Synopsis

Astérix and Obélix will fish fresh fish for Panoramix because it is a crucial ingredient for the Magic potion. However a storm carries them on the Mer far from the Gaulle. They fail on an unknown ground populated by a strange tribe and birds which they name “glouglou”. Later, an explorer Viking also approaches this new ground…

Comments

  • the new ground “discovered” by Astérix and Obélix is of course the America.
  • Although the new arrivals (the Vikings, which will bring back Astérix and Obélix to Europe) resemble Norman enormously already met in the past (in the album Astérix and Norman the ), neither Astérix nor Obélix make the bringing together. However, contrary to Norman whose names finished in " - af" , the names of these Vikings finish in " - sen". They would be thus of slightly different origins.
  • One includes/understands a little best the reason for which the fish of Ordralfabétix is not always of the first freshness thanks to a dialog between Astérix and Ordralfabétix: “But is the sea with two steps of the village - the sea? which relationship with fish? - You have to only go to fish. - Ah not môssieu! I have the respect of the customer, me, môssieu! my fish, it comes directly from Lutèce, by oxcart! ”
