The Glassmaker (ring)
the Glassmaker is a planetary Anneau located around Neptune. It bears the name of the astronomer Urbain the Glassmaker, person in charge of discovered of Neptune.
Characteristics
The Glassmaker orbits to 53.200 km of the center of Neptune (that is to say 2,148 times the ray of planet), over a width of a hundred km. The ring Lassell is a not very luminous extension.The Glassmaker was discovered starting from the photographs taken by the probe Voyager 2 at the time of the overflight of the neptunian system in 1989. Its temporary designation was 1989 NR 2R.
