the Game preserve is a common French, located in the department of Maine-et-Loire and the area Pays of the Loire.

Geography

Dominating the island and Loire Valley many, to 25 km of Nantes and 70 of Angers, the game preserve (1600 inhabitants) is a hyphen enters the Anjou and the Brittany. The word " varenne" mean sandy ground, ground of alluvia and the strong presence of the Loire recalls, of its arms, drinking of Anjou, to drink of Chapoin, to drink Saint Nicolas and of the frontier river close to the Divatte.

History

Historically, the Game preserve belongs to the Marches of Brittany - Anjou (which extend from the area of Champtoceaux to Montfaucon), in the Mauges.

In Xesiècle, Foulque Nerra conquers new territories and extends Anjou towards the West to the river Divatte and in the South by conquering the Mauges.

On the territorial, legal and political level, the Game preserve will depend on the duchy and county on Anjou.

On the religious level, the parish of the Game preserve will remain just like Champtoceaux, Boissière-of-Gilded the, Landemont, Liré, Montfaucon and some other villages angevins, depend on the Diocèse of Nantes until the French revolution. In 1790, all these communes, except Boissière-of-Gilded the, will join the Diocèse of Angers and the new whole Département of Maine-et-Loire.
