the French today is the name d´une Revue published quarterly by the French Association of the French teachers (in the past French Association of the French Professors created on May 11th, 1967) currently published by the editions Armand Colin.

This review was founded in March 1968. Its writers were successively Pierre Barbéris, Jean Verrier, Daniel Delas, Jean-Louis Chiss and Jacques David. This review was accompanied a long time by a supplement which gave an account of the life of association. Each number is set of themes and entrusted to two coordinators who gather ten contribution making state of a question as well from the point of view of the university research as of the teaching practice " nursery school in Université" , like known as the slogan of a.F.E.F. Chronicles accompany each number: " poésie" , " literature jeunesse" , " linguistique" and " history of the enseignement".

The assistantship of this review is initially composed of the trainers of teachers (I.U.F.M.), of the didacticians of French (language and literature) but also of the Professors of the primary education, the secondary or the superior engaged in practices which nourish their reflection on their trade, his evolutions and its components, to conceive life and theory of the language (Ferdinand de Saussure) to the service of the trainings and the lesson of French like language and culture.
