The Forward

the Forward is a Journal American Juif published in New York City. It was founded in 1897 like daily newspaper in Yiddish (פֿאָרווערטס, Forverts ) by Abraham Cahan.

Its circulation grows quickly, in parallel with the fast rise of the population yiddishophone to the the United States. In 1912, it was drawn with 120.000 specimens and towards the end of the year 1920 and the beginning of the year 1930, the Forward was a metropolitan daily newspaper of considerable influence and of national circulation of more than 275.000 specimens but it had already fallen to 170.000 in 1939; in 1983, the newspaper was published more only in weekly title, with an English supplement.
